There have been so many wonderful moments to treasure in the summer term of 2026. A huge thank you to our amazing children, families and staff for making this term such a memorable one!

We celebrated Children’s Day in May – a very special day dedicated to celebrating children, promoting their wellbeing and recognising the importance of their education, happiness and development. We had a fun filled day with lots of fun activities.

We also held our annual fundraising day raising vital funds for the charity, CHUF – a day we have named ‘Alfie’s Day’ This day is held in loving memory of one of our beautiful pupils, Alfie who will always be part of our nursery family. Messy play was Alfie’s favourite kind of play and we honoured his memory by getting EXTREMELY MESSY!

Our 3 giant African snails came out of hibernation this term and we celebrated their return by learning about the wonderful world of insects and minibeasts.

In June, we had a visit from Maxine, who brought her GNE bus along to nursery. Our children enjoyed fantastic imaginary journeys.  Everyone took their turn being the driver, gave out tickets and then decided where to take their passengers on a road trip. We went to Concord, the Galleries, Diggerland and the Stadium of Light to name a few!

In July we enjoyed lots of football fun with Jake from the Foundation of Light. Our children developed their football skills through lots of games and activities.

Following on from our football sessions, World Cup fever hit our nursery school. We celebrated the excitement of the World Cup as we travelled around the globe learning about different countries, different flags, cultures, traditions and food.

It was the turn of Cedar Group to experience our Forest School trips. The forest was extremely overgrown on their visits and added to their adventures!

Police officer Chris, also came along to nursery this term. He showed us around the police van, let us switch on the siren and taught us all about staying safe and helping others. Unfortunately someone stole Chris’ jammy dodger biscuit so we were all under suspicion!

A very busy and wonderful summer term!
