Down in the Woods

Since October the nursery has been involved with a project called ECAT (Every Child a Talker) and we have been given the opportunity to be part of an initiative organised through a charity called Sightlines (www.sightlines-initiative.com) which is an early education charity supporting and demonstrating a creative and reflective approach to early childhood education.  Two artists are working with the children in the local woods and also at nursery.

During the visits to the woods the children are well supervised and have had the opportunity to explore a small stream and tunnel, as well as the woodland.  They can follow their own interest and then further work is developed back at nursery with the children.

All the children have been inspired and have created their own stream in the nursery garden.  They have become explorers and enjoyed making maps.
