The challenge, to walk 84 miles in 5 days from Bowness to Wallsend. The reason, to raise money for the Epilepsy Action Charity. The participants, Linda Seager who works at Oxclose Nursery, her sister Dianne Brown and Susan Air. The labrador is just there to see them off; smart dog!

Linda became involved with the Epilepsy Action charity when her son Sean was diagnosed with epilepsy eight years ago.

They started the walk at Bowness-on-Solway on Saturday 25 June 2011 and finished at Wallsend on Friday 1st July. The photographs below show some of the breath-taking scenery they encountered on their way across the country.

It would seem that they had a stowaway on their journey in the form of 'Spike' of 'Every Schoolday Counts' fame, complete with his shades.
Ed. I heard a story... it would appear that our intrepid trio forgot about Spike sun-bathing and went on without him. They realised after some miles that he wasn't with them and retraced their steps to pick him up. So in actual fact they covered more than the 85 mile route.
The ladies raised a massive £1,175 for the Epilepsy Action Charity.
They would like to thank everyone who supported them in this endeavour and hope that you enjoy the pictures of their journey.
Ed. I must apologise for the time it's taken to get this worthwhile endeavor published; I have no excuse and must try harder... but what an achievement.
