Did you know 2008 was the National Year of Reading? The NationalYear of Reading was a government plan to spread the message about reading for pleasure. Their website can be found at www.yearofreading.org.uk . Reading to children really helps their development and encourages an interest and a love of books that will carry on into their adulthood. It is also really important for children to see adults reading for pleasure, children copy adults all the time! |

The nursery has a 'Bring a Book - Take a Book' scheme where adults and children can bring in a book and then take one away with them; it's like a library without having a card! We trust everyone to look after the books and bring them back again. Staff and Parents have already donated some books and I am delighted to say that 'Waterstones' in Sunderland have also donated books. The baskets of books can be found in the cloakroom - help yourself and 'Happy Reading' |
